Be happy in the knowledge that your indulgence is helping your Hospice!
All Hospices in New Zealand rely on the financial donations and volunteer time of kind-hearted people like you to ensure that palliative care services remain free of charge for people in need.
Every Hospice taking part in the National Hospice Strawberry Festival has sought sponsorship and support from local and national organisations to ensure that all funds raised from your local
Strawberry Festival go directly towards the care and support of Hospice patients and families in your area.
What is Hospice care?
Hospice is not a building; it is a philosophy of care. Hospice’s goal is to help people make the most of their lives.
Hospice cares for the whole person, not just their physical needs, but also their emotional, spiritual, and social needs too. Hospice cares for families and friends as well, both before and after death. Irrespective of where people are, this philosophy of care does not change and everything Hospice provides is free of charge.
Hospice believes that Hospice care should be available to anyone who needs it, helping people make the most of every moment.
