Hospice Strawberry Festival Events

Eastern Bays Hospice, Auckland

4 November

A fashion parade will be held at dove shop, Apirana Avenue. The fashion parade will include an auction and the hospice is encouraging people to come dressed with a strawberry flavour. There will also be a "Strawberry Market Barrow" at dove shop, St Heliers selling home-made goodies.

5 November 

Eastern Bays Hospice are selling ice cream and strawberries at dove shop, St Heliers and a surprise venue at Stonefields New World. 


Mercy Hospice, Auckland

9 November, Queen Elizabeth II Square (Outside Westfield Downtown), 8am - 4pm.

Celebrity chefs, Lauraine Jacobs and Annabelle White, are running demonstrations at lunch time at downtown Auckland QE11 Square. They will be whipping up delectable strawberry recipes that the public will be able to purchase.

Mercy Hospice are also selling strawberry plants, tea towels, strawberry tarts and strawberry shortcake cup cakes.They have organised entertainment to create a fun and festive atmosphere including a circus juggler as well as muscians. Look out for the Mercy Hospice shops with decorated windows in a strawberry theme. 


Gisborne Palliative Care Service

12 November - Family Fun Day. The Rose Garden outside Lawson Field Theatre, Gisborne.

"Celebrate the work of the Gisborne hospice by sharing the joys of spring, life and love. Join us for the season's pick of the strawberry crop, delicious ice cream and soak up the atmosphere and entertainment. It's a great opportunity for friends and families to support as great cause and enjoy the activities throughout the day."

Along with strawberry sundae sales there will be a variety of dance performances by children with a special performance by Mangapapa's School's Polynesian Group. The Gisborne Gym Club will be demonstrating gymnastics and members of the Irish Band will be playing. For younger children there will be a bouncy castle and face painting.

Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington

9 November - Midland Park, Lambton Quay, 8am - 5pm

Come along to Midland Park, Lambton Quay and buy a bowl of delicious strawberries and ice cream anytime from 8am to 5pm . There will be entertainment, including Alistair Cartwright and the Queen Margaret College choir, Black Thunder and MC.

19 November - Family Fun Day, MacLean Park, Paraparaumu, 10am - 4pm

This special family friendly fun day is packed full of events; with all day entertainment, bands, dancing displays, bouncy castle, face painting, barbeque and strawberry sundae sales. Come along and meet special guest - Shortland Street actor, Lee Donoghue (aka Hunter McKay)! 

23 November - Top of the Cable Car, 8am - 5pm

You can explore the botanical gardens with stunning views of Wellington whilst eating delicious strawberries and ice cream, from 8am - 5pm.

26 November - Porirua, outside PAK 'N SAVE supermarket, 8am - 4pm

Three stalls will be selling strawberries and ice cream between 8am and 4pm in the PAK 'N SAVE car park, Porirua. Have a treat before doing your shopping!


Te Omanga Hospice

9 November

A stall is running in Margaret Street, Lower Hutt (8am - 4pm).

12 November

Three stalls selling strawberries and ice cream will be running on Saturday: Riverside Market, Lower Hutt (8am -12pm), Hospice Shop, 226 Main St, Upper Hutt (10am -1pm),  Hospice Shop, 374 Jackson St, Petone (10am -1pm).


Marlborough Hospice

5 November

A stall will be selling strawberries and ice cream on the Picton foreshore from 9am at the start of the iconic "Queen Charlotte Classic" multi sports race.  Five hundred competitors along with hundreds of supporters are expected to attened.

11 November

Ice cream and strawberries will be sold at the Blenheim Forum from 9.30am with volunteers dressed as strawberries.


Otago Community Hospice

4 November

The Hospice is holding a stall selling strawberry sundaes along with face painting at Dunedin's Golden Centre 10am to 5pm. This event is being held in conjunction with the Hospice's annual street appeal.
